Parks & Greenbelts
The Parks and Greenbelts Committee works with the County of Monterey and County Service Area 15 to maintain our three developed parks, the one "secret" park, Maurice's Path, and the greenbelts along Portola Dr. All the parks and greenbelts are county property so working together with the County of Monterey and CSA 15 for the maintenance and improvements of these areas are vital for ensuring the upkeep of our open spaces for the enjoyment of our residents and the community. Recent improvements to our parks included new swings and chips for the playground equipment. Your donations to Parks and Greenbelts go a long way in keeping the areas maintained at the highest level. If you wish to donate to the parks and greenbelts fund, look for the Donate Now button below.

Four Corners Improvement Project
An ongoing project within Toro Park Estates is the beautification of the eleven corners along Portola Drive. This is accomplished by adding bark, flowers, plants, and rocks on the corners of these intersections. We are always looking for residents to assist in cleaning and maintaining these corners along Portola Drive on an ongoing basis. These corners include Manolete, Toreador, Veronica / Ortega, Davenrich / Capote, as well as the west Davenrich Street entrance and Ordonez Drive. If anyone would like to volunteer to help with these corners, contact Steve Deering at: toroparkestates@gmail.com

Monterey County Free Libraries Branchlets - "Little Libraries"

Reading inspires creativity, increases vocabulary, improves writing, and helps us in many different ways. Books can entertain, educate, and enlighten.
There are some pretty easy ways to get books here in Toro Park Estates. The Monterey County Free Libraries has a "Branchlet" in Warren Sutherland Park. You simply take a book, leave a book, all on the honor system. The "Little Library" in Warren Sutherland Park was installed by former TPEHA President Gary Aronson in May 2016.
Very nearby, there are two other "Little Libraries" operated by LittleFreeLibrary.org. One is located in front of Castle Rock Coffee, and the other is located on the fence along Portola between Toro Sunshine and Toro Hills Ave.
“To learn to read is to light a fire; every syllable that is spelled out is a spark.” ― Victor Hugo
